View West from High Line at 14th St., Manhattan, Sunday July 26th, 2009.

The first section of the High Line, New York City’s park in the sky, opened in June, 2009. This elevated, linear park is built on a 1930s former freight rail structure on Manhattan’s West Side. It’s owned by the City of New York, and operated by the non-profit Friends of the High Line, in partnership with the Department of Parks & Recreation.

Written by Friends of the High Line’s full-time staff members, the High Line Blog is our way to keep you updated on the park. Here you’ll find park news, construction updates from Section 2, news from our office, press, photos and video, events, and interesting things happening in our community. Like the High Line, it’s a work in progress. Check back periodically, and we hope you can visit the High Line and see for yourself!

Sepia Scenes #40

I must congratulate all those bloggers who post thumbnails of posts done by their participants. It's very hard to get it right! It takes time I must say. So I'm going back to my own post and look forward to your posts by going around and looking at them myself! I hope you'll do the same!

Here's a sepia shot that I think you'll like!

Sepia Scenes# 39

Welcome! Here are some of the Sepia Scenes thumbnails from last week that were particularly good:

Left to right: Karen, Judi, Elaine Ling, Eyad, Felisol

Something different this week: I colored the sepia photo and then posterized it a little.

I liked coloring the dress and the hair and adding a little posterization. Nice effect don't you think?

Sometimes taking a picture of a picture comes out real nice!

A lone bench to sit on and contemplate in St. Michael's Cemetery in Astoria, Queens.
I caught this shot quickly, from the car, through the windshield, and it came out a little blurry. I thought I would use this for Sepia Scenes this week and blur it a little more to give it further atmosphere...

Here's the orignal so you can compare them:

Something happens to the blur in sepia.

Well, it's time to sign Mr. Linky and leave a comment.

Don't forget to visit other people and enjoy their Sepia post.

And don't forget to look for your thumbnail next week!

Sepia Scenes #37

Welcome to Sepia Scenes again this week my friends! I have 3 photos for you: they are from the community in which my SIL lives.

Again I did some photo-editing using Curves in Adobe Photoshop 7.

I love this one!

Those are geraniums on the balcony.

A little bit of fencing.

Next week I'll select a few of your photos to show off on this blog. Go over to Ruby Tuesday to see what I did last week over there.

Okay people so sign Mr. Linky and leave a comment!
